Keith "Feetz" Fietsam

Keith graduated from Belleville West High School in 1999, where he was a member of the 1997 baseball team that went all the way to the state championship.

Fietsam played baseball while attending Southwestern Illinois College during the 1999-2000 school years. The following year he transferred to Lindenwood where he contributed to an outstanding team for the next three years before he graduated.

“Feetz “as he was called by all who knew him well, stayed at Lindenwood to complete his master’s degree and was the assistant varsity coach as well as the head JV coach. In the spring of 2008 Fietsam was the JV baseball coach for Lutheran South High School where he led them to a 15 – 1 record, including winning the conference championship and the Westminister Tournament.

Keith was a person that led by example. He was very dedicated to his church where he was active in youth outreach programs. He loved his wife Katie dearly and always put his religion and family first. By his dedication to these he was able to live a full and successful life in all other activities such as baseball.

The Keith Fietsam Memorial Scholarship will be awarded yearly to a deserving young man that is not only a good student, but committed to playing for Lindenwood University. The recipient will have big shoes to fill to represent such a fine individual as Keith Fietsam.

The first recipient of the Keith Fietsam Memorial Scholarship was Justin Lamar, who just completed his career at Lindenwood this past season.
