Welcome to the 2010/2011 Lindenwood University Shotgun Sports!
The “Lion Pride” is excited to welcome back both new and old shooters for another exciting year. Our success over the past seven years has sparked great publicity to the program here at Lindenwood University. Over the years, the Lindenwood University Shotgun Sports Teams have generated one of the largest teams in shooting history. Due to this year’s anticipated amount of participation, students will be expected to earn their spot on this prestigious team.
This year the program will consist of two teams: Lindenwood Gold and Lindenwood Black. Both will represent the school at different competitions. Lindenwood Gold will compete at the ATA, NSSA, NSCA, and USA Shooting sanctioned events. The practices will take place on Monday and Wednesdays.
Lindenwood Black will compete at the Gateway Gun Club leagues and matches, plus collegiate matches throughout the year. Their practices will take place on Tuesday and Thursdays.
The staff and I look forward to accepting this year’s challenges with vigor and anticipate with the goal of capturing our 8th consecutive collegiate national championship. Freshmen should plan on arriving on Sunday, August 15, 2010. We will conduct an informative meeting with a preceding BBQ. Parents are welcome to join us for this “Meet and Greet”. Stay Tuned for more details…
Freshmen will be expected to train Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for evaluation. The remainder of the Lindenwood Shotgun Sports team will arrive at the University on the 20th of August, 2010. All shooters will then compete in the Lindenwood Open. This is an intersquad match that will be shot on Saturday, August 21 and Sunday August 22, 2010. This match will help the staff determine the team which the student’s ability bests fit.
All events (American Trap and Skeet, International Trap and Skeet, and Five Stand Sporting Clays) will be shot at different times both days. Scheduling will be provided upon arrival.
AGAIN this week’s events will help the staff determine the best team to which the students’ abilities may fit. The staff at anytime can change the status of a shooter based on performance, academics, and attitude.
Train hard and see you in August!!!!
