The Lindenwood gymnastics team continued its late-season surge on Sunday afternoon in Champaign, Ill. during a tri-meet with Illinois and Bowling Green. The Lady Lions set a program record for a regular season meet, and earned their second win all-time against a MAC program.

Lindenwood finished with a team score of 195.625, which was the third-highest in program history and the highest for a regular season competition. The team also set a program record with a beam score of 49.175, and its bars score was the 10th-best.

The Lady Lions came out 0.300 ahead of a Bowling Green squad that came into the weekend nine spots ahead of Lindenwood in the national rankings. Illinois won the meet with a score of 196.700.

Lindenwood started the day on the bars and scored a 48.800. After a fall by the fourth gymnast,
Ryan Henry and
Kierstin Sokolowski kept the team's score high with marks of 9.800 and 9.750, respectively. Andy Alexander led the team with a 9.825.

The Lady Lions beam routine included all six scores being a 9.775 or higher.
Taylor Colwell and Henry both had a 9.775, and Alexander and
Breanna Franklin each had a 9.800.
Emily Milliet had a career-best mark of 9.875, which tied for the sixth-highest in program history. Sokolowski anchored the event and scored a 9.925, the second-highest score in the team's history, and just 0.025 off her own school record.

Lindenwood kept the momentum going with a 48.900 on the floor. Alexander finished a great meet with a 9.875 mark, which led the team. Franklin, Henry, and McMullan all had marks of 9.775.

The team finished on the vault, and scored a 48.750.
Courtney Mitchell had a 9.800, and Sokolowski finished the competition off with a 9.875, which finished first overall out of the 18 competitors.
Jordan Boogerd also had a strong performance, with a 9.775.

Lindenwood looks to continue its recent string of strong performances next Sunday with a quad meet at Temple University. That competition will begin at 1 p.m. central time.
