Women's Gymnastics Extends Winning Streak To Seven

Lindenwood gymnastics saw its winning streak grow to seven on Sunday afternoon in Normal, Ill. The Lady Lions picked up wins over MIC foe Illinois State, as well as Winona State.
 
The floor competition was the biggest difference of the day. The Lady Lions had five scores of 9.700 or higher, and had a season-high mark of 48.875. Lindenwood scored 1.675 more than Illinois State in just that event, helping the Lady Lions capture their fourth straight overall team title. Lindenwood had a team score of 193.600, compared to 191.200 for Illinois State and 186.825 for Winona State.
 
Ryan Henry captured the team's only individual titles. She recorded a score of 9.825 on the beam, winning by 0.050. Henry was one of two Lady Lions who competed in the all-around for the first time this season, and she tied for first with a mark of 38.650. Her score was bumped by also having a 9.850 on the floor, which led the team.
 
A pair of freshmen led the team on the vault as Aleah Leman and Jordan Boogerd each had marks of 9.700. Andy Alexander had a team-high score on the bars, as she finished with a mark of 9.725. Franklin had the other 9.800 score at the event, accomplishing it on the floor.
 
Lindenwood will compete in the Harley-Davidson Invitational next Friday in Milwaukee, Wis. The Lady Lions will face Wisconsin-Whitewater and Wisconsin-Stout.
