Nicole Hensley was a part of the gold medal winning U.S. Women's National Team at the 2016 IIHF Women's World Championships held in Kamloops, British Columbia.
Team USA defeated Canada in the gold medal game last night, winning in overtime by a final score of 1-0.
Earlier in the tournament, Hensley made her first-career start in goal for the U.S. Women's National Team versus Russia, turning in a 16 save shutout performance.
Hensley, a four-year member of the Lindenwood women's hockey team, wrapped up her collegiate career in March as the NCAA's all-time saves leader, with a mark of 4,094. During her senior season, Hensley set program records in save percentage (.922) and goals against average (2.52).
