The Lindenwood gymnastics program swept the MIC weekly awards this week.
Valeri Ingui was the MIC Gymnasts of the Week, and
Courtney Heise was the MIC Specialists of the Week.
Ingui and Heise earned the honors after leading Lindenwood to its highest score in school history last weekend with a 194.700. The Lady Lions finished second at the State of Missouri meet, including a win over defending MIC Champion Southeast Missouri. Lindenwood tied the school record on the vault, and finished with the second-highest team score in the other three events.
Ingui scored a 38.925 in the all-around at the meet, the fourth-highest all-around score in school history. She also became the first Lindenwood gymnasts to have two meets in her career with all-around scores of 38.900 or higher. Ingui was the runner-up on the beam with a 9.800, and tied for fourth on the bars with a 9.800. She also scored a 9.725 on the floor and a 9.600 on the vault.
Heise became the Lindenwood gymnasts in program history to record two scores of 9.850 or higher in the same competition. She scored a 9.850 in both the vault and the bars, and led Lindenwood in both of those events. Her vault score was the second-best in school history, and her bars mark was the fourth-best at Lindewnood.
Ingui is the third Lindenwood gymnasts in program history to win the MIC Gymnasts of the Week honor, and Heise is the second Lindenwood gymnasts to earn the Specialist of the Week award.
