The Lindenwood women's gymnastics team picked up its biggest victory in program history on Friday night at Hyland Arena. The Lady Lions won the Lindenwood Quad Meet, including a victory over Seattle Pacific, a regular at the USAG National Championships.

Lindenwood finished with a team score of 191.575, its fourth-best team score in its short history. Seattle Pacific finished with a score of 190.450, UW-La Crosse was third with a score of 188.650, and UW-Oshkosh was fourth with a mark of 185.875.

The Lady Lions recorded over 48 points in both the vault and beam, tying school records in both events. Lindenwood got off to a quick start with a 48.200 mark on the vault, which was the highest team score during the meet on that apparatus. The Lady Lions then pulled away from the pack on the third rotation with a 48.500 on the beam. No other team recorded over a 47.000 on the beam during the competition. Lindenwood also scored a 47.650 on the vault and a 47.225 on the floor.

Individually, Courtney Heise stole the show for the Lady Lions. On the bars, the two judges gave her a 9.85 and a 9.95. The 9.90 average was the highest individual mark for a Lindenwood gymnast on any event in program history. Later in the evening, Heise was the fifth gymnast on the floor and her 9.575 sealed the team victory for Lindenwood.

Lindenwood won the individual title in all four events. Besides Heise winning the bars, Rachel Zabawa won the vault with a 9.775, and tied for first on the floor exercise with a 9.750. Valeri Ingui won the individual beam title with a 9.800 mark. Only two gymnasts competed for the all-around title and Lindenwood's Emily Turik came in first with a 37.800, a new best for her during her Lindenwood career.

Lindenwood returns to action next weekend with a pair of duals against MIC rivals. The Lady Lions travel to Illinois State on Friday night followed by a Sunday contest at Illinois-Chicago.
