Lindenwood women's ice hockey head coach Vince O'Mara has announced the team captains for the 2013-14 season.

Alyssa West, Chelsea Witwicke, and Kendra Broad will take the role as team leaders for the upcoming season. West will assume the task of team captain, while Witwicke and Broad are noted as the alternate captains.

West is entering her junior year as one of the Lady Lions top forwards. She played in 33 games netting seven goals, and had 12 assists which put her in a tie for first on the team. A total of 19 points placed her in a tie for second on the team. The native of Macomb, Mich. had 112 shots with 42 blocked shots.

Witwicke played in all 36 games scoring just two goals but was tied for first in assists with 12. She scored the game-winning goal at Penn State which was also her second two-point game. The senior defenseman from Roseville, Minn. was sixth on the team in points a year ago with 14.

Broad is a junior forward from Petrolia, Ontario and looks to help the Lady Lions improve from a year ago. Kendra played in all 36 games and placed third on the team in goals (9) and points (17), was fifth in assists (8), and fourth in shots (92). Her game winner was scored when the Lady Lions hosted Penn State.

The 2013-14 season will open when the Lady Lions host Bemidji State University at the Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo. on September 27 at 7 p.m.
