The Lindenwood men's tennis team traveled to Boliver, Mo. to compete in the 2012 USTA/ITA Central Regional Championships this weekend.
The squad sent eight players to the tournament: Will Hale, 14
th seed Yoshi Ysa,
Andrei Masin,
Eddy Belhaouane,
Ryan Reeves,
Johannes Rabenhorst,
Thiago Mastroianni and 13
th seed
Eric Tucoulou.
All men competed in both the singles and doubles events. Ysa, Masin, Rabenhorst and Mastroianni advanced to the second round of singles play where they were all defeated.
In doubles play, the team of Ysa and Mastroianni advanced the furthest of the men, reaching the third round, where they fell by scores of 6-0 and 7-5. The pairing of Masin and Rabenhorst made it to round two but fell in straight sets by scores of 6-2 and 6-1. Teams Reeves and Hale as well as Tucoulou and Belhaouane were defeated in the first round of play.
The Lions will take the courts again this Wednesday against Quincy University in Quincy Mo.
