The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team swept the weekly Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (WILA) awards on Wednesday, Feb 22.
Kara Cashen was named the Offensive Player of the Week and
Stephanie Tirman was the Defensive Player of the Week.
Cashen had team-highs of five goals and six points during the team's 23-5 victory over Saint Leo. One of her goals was the first score in program history for a varsity contest and another was the game-winning goal in the program's first victory. In the team's setback against Florida Southern, Cashen again had team-highs with four goals and five points. For the week, Cashen collected nine goals, two assists, four groundballs, and four draw controls.
Tirman led a defense that allowed just 14 shots against Saint Leo and she had a team-high six draw controls in that contest. She added three draw controls in the Florida Southern contest and had a team-high nine for the week. Tirman also collected three groundballs and was one of three players with multiple caused turnovers in the two games.
Lindenwood will play its home and conference opener on Friday, Feb. 24 with a 4 p.m. game at Hunter Stadium against Colorado Mesa.
