Wrestling teams from all over the country met in St. Charles Saturday for the Second Annual Joe Parisi Open, hosted by the Lindenwood Lions. A number of Lion wrestlers fared well in the tournament, including
Jake Landals (184 lbs.) and
Jacob Janes (141 lbs.)
Jacob Janes was the Lions' top performer in the tournament. Janes pinned his first round opponent Skyler Procasky before earning two more victories by decision to reach the semifinals. In the semis, Janes fell to eventual runner-up Eric Wilson of Missouri. After losing his next match in the consolation bracket, Janes was named winner of the 5
th place match due to a medical forfeit by Oklahoma State's Julian Feikart.
Jake Landals also had a successful day. Landals started off his tournament with wins over Matt Atwood and Blace Walser, both by decision. After losing to Oklahoma's Travis Rutt in the quarterfinals, he added one more win to his record by defeating Maryville's Ryan Beltz in the consolation bracket. Landals would then fall to Oklahoma's Nolan Boyd, who would go on to finish 4
th in the division.
Oklahoma State's Chris Perry was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler after winning the 174 pound division.

174 lbs – Chris Perry, Oklahoma State
184 lbs – Travis Rutt, Oklahoma
197 lbs – Brent Haynes, Missouri
185 lbs – Dominique Bradley, Missouri
