The Lindenwood women's gymnastics program will hold a kickoff event on Feb. 9 in the VIP Room at Hyland Arena. The event will be a chance for Lindenwood fans to meet head coach Gretchen Goerlitz and learn about the newest athletics program at the school.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with refreshments. At 6:30 p.m., President James D. Evans, Ph.D., Athletics Director John Creer, and Goerlitz will talk to the crowd about the gymnastics program and what to expect during its inaugural season in 2012-13.

After the event, those in attendance are encouraged to stick around for the 7 p.m. women's basketball game versus McKendree. At halftime of that game, gymnastics will be on display with a handstand contest.
