The Lindenwood Olympic weightlifting team was featured on St. Louis television station KSDK Monday night during the six o'clock newscast.  The story, which was reported by sportscaster Rene Knott, highlighted efforts by Coach Derrick Johnson and his athletes to earn a spot on the United States Olympic team for the 2012 Summer Games in London.

Lindenwood Olympic weighlifting story

The Lindenwood Olympic weightlifting program is receiving publicity from a variety of sources.  In addition to the television news story January 23, the St. Louis American newspaper recently photographed the team as they practiced and Nickelodeon will be in town in early February to film a feature on Darren and Darryl Barnes, the younger brothers of Coach Johnson. 

Lindenwood Olympic weightlifting travels to Itasca, Illinois for the Junior Nationals January 27-29.
