The Lindenwood Men's Rugby team earned its first official win in program history as they routed the Kansas Jayhawks 47-10 on the road September 10th.
The Lions scored early and often in the first half of the game as fullback Morgan Findlay finished off a nice setup from Trevor Locke to notch the first try at the seven minute mark. After Jeremy Chacon dove over the corner for the second score, Lindenwood rallied again with some good midfield play from Armon Golabi and Cody Scwahn setting up Brendan Davis for a third try at the 19 minute mark. Davis scored again and the Lions added a sideline conversion to make the score 24-3 at halftime.
It was more Lindenwood dominance to start the second half as the Lions struck early with a try from Mathius Harris, but a defensive lapse allowed the Jayhawks squad to score its only try of the game. Lindenwood bounced back with solid play the rest of the game and added another try from Harris and halfback Nick Markowski to complete the 47-10 victory.
The Lions picked up another official win on September 11th after the University of Central Missouri forfeited a scheduled game. The final score will go in the books as a 28-0 win for the Lions.
Lindenwood kicks off its home season Saturday, September 17th as they host Truman State University at the Athletic Track at 1:30 p.m.
