The Lindenwood men's hockey team finished the series sweep of No. 12 Iowa State with a 2-0 victory on Saturday night at the Lindenwood Ice Arena.
Colin Long put the Lions in the lead towards the end of the first period, with an assist from Grant Gorczyca.
The only other goal in the game was scored by Gorczyca with two miinutes to play in the second period. Bret Morrell provided the assist.
Lindenwood would hold on to that 2-0 lead for the final period. Robi Cavallari stopped 23 shots in between the pipes to earn the shutout win.
On Friday night, the Lions defeated the Cyclones 6-2 to take the first game of the series.
Tyler Bowman initiated the game's scoring with a goal midway through the first period. Iowa State would convert a power-play opportunity to tie the game three minutes later. But to end the period, the Lions would get two quick goals from Eric Combs and Alex Roth to take a two-goal advantage into the first intermission.
The lone goal in the second period came from Gorczyca on the power-play.
Lindenwood began the final period of play with two goals from Jeremy Meletti and Niklas Bunnstedt to go ahead 6-1. Before the final horn, Iowa State would net their second goal of the night to make the game 6-2 in the end.
Cavallari recorded 19 saves to get the victory in goal for Lindenwood. Adam Krefski added two assists.
After the two victories, the Lions finish their regular season with a 28-2 record, Lindenwood will head to Illinois next weekend to face Robert Morris in the CSCHL conference playoff.
