Women's Hockey Falls In U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Face-Off Classic

The Lindenwood women's hockey team fell on Thursday night to Bemidji State in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Face-Off Classic. The Lady Lions lost to the Beavers by an 11-0 score.

Bemidji State struck early with a goal less than one minute into the game. The Beavers then scored four more first-period goals in a six-minute span. In the second period, Bemidji State added three more goals in the first-half of the period, and then went up 9-0 with a minute remaining in the second. It then scored two more third-period goals for the final margin.

Lindenwood was outshot in the game by a 72-19 margin, including a 48-9 mark through two periods. The Lady Lions also committed eight penalties and allowed four power-play goals.

Goalkeeper Briar Bache entered the game midway through the first period and made 46 saves on the 53 shots that she faced. Lindenwood's first line of Allysson Arcibal, Alyssa West, and Alison Wickenheiser combined for 12 of Lindenwood's 19 shots and the line did not allow a goal while they were on the ice together.

Lindenwood falls to 1-12-1 with the loss in Eveleth, Minn. The Lady Lions return home this weekend for a two-game series against Robert Morris (Pa.), starting Saturday evening with a 7 p.m. contest.
