Rachel Byus Wins Again, Cody Goettl Takes Second at Mizzou Mountain Bike Meet

Lindenwood's Rachel Byus continued her dominance in the endurance events winning both the Women's A cross country and short track races at a mountain bike meet hosted by the University of Missouri October 8-9.  Byus also finished seventh in two gravity events, the downhill and dual slalom.  Lady Lion Sarah Lukas also had a strong showing finishing third in both the cross country and short track events and picking up a fifth place finish in the downhill and sixth in the dual slalom.

In the Men's A competition, Lindenwood's Cody Goettl took second in the cross country and short track events.  Fellow Lion Owen Belton finished seventh in cross country and eighth in short track while Nick Chevalley took ninth in the short track event.

In the Women's B cross country race, Hanne Zmierczak added another win to her season total and also picked up a second place finish in the short track race.
Drew Kramer picked up his first win of the season in the Men's B cross country event and finished fourth in the short track event.  Fellow Lion Tim Norris took third in the cross country event and seventh in the short track while Mark Schroeder finished sixth in the short track event.

The strong individual category A performances put several Lindenwood riders in great position for the conference championships and possible qualification for the mountain bike nationals in New Mexico in late October.   Lindenwood cycling travels for those conference championships at the Mountain Bike Regionals in Ripon, Wisconsin October 15-16.
