Missouri State Uses Big Second Half to Defeat Lindenwood in Field Hockey

The Lindenwood field hockey squad dropped its season opener to Missouri State on Saturday afternoon in Springfield, Mo. The Bears erupted for six unanswered goals in the second half to defeat the Lady Lions 7-1.

Haley McCulloch scored Lindenwood's lone goal shortly after halftime to even the score at one. Kayleigh Harrower was credited with the assist.

Missouri State responded by scoring five goals in the next 14 minutes, and added a sixth in the closing minutes.

The Lady Lions were outshot 22-1, and the Bears held a 14-2 advantage in corner attempts.

Lindenwood will have another shot at earning its first win of the year tomorrow against Missouri at 3:30 p.m.

Garrett  Reeg
Men's Basketball
Garrett Reeg helped the Lindenwood men's basketball team go 3-0 last week over Webster, McKendree and Lincoln. Reeg recorded double-figure points in all three games including a 14-point mark against Webster as well as McKendree. In three games, Reeg shot 68 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free-throw line while posting 19 total rebounds. 
Shauna Isbell
Women's Wrestling
Shauna Isbell captured the first individual championship for women's wrestling in the 130 pound division at the 2012 Women's College Wrestling Association National Tournament. This was the first women's collegiate wrestling national championship for both Isbell and Lindenwood. She won twice by pin-fall and three times by decision.
