Baseball Adds 21 New Freshmen to the 2011 Roster

Lindenwood baseball coach Doug Bletcher has announced that he has signed 21 freshmen to be a part of the Lions baseball program.

Zach Pearman was a member of a Granite City team which advanced to the Illinois state sectionals in 2010 while he compiled a 9-2 record on the hill.

Frank Guidice is an infielder who was a three year starter at Rochester Adams High School and was part of two district championships and a regional title teams. During his senior season he hit .394 with four home runs and 29 RBIs. He was also named to the all-district and all-region teams during his final high school season.

Robbie Douthit is a 6’6” right-handed pitcher who spent three years on the varsity squad at Holt High School. During his three seasons he compiled 96 strikeouts with a 2.72 ERA.

Brian Hruby played his high school baseball at Pattonville High School where he had a record of 2-3 with an ERA of 2.51 during his senior year. During his senior season he struck out 26 hitters while only surrendering three walks.

Zach Kurzejeski is a shortstop from Columbia, Mo. who started all 26 games as a senior and hit .402 with 28 runs scored, 12 doubles, and 21 RBI. His Rock Bridge team made it to the final four in 2009 and won sectionals in 2010. In 2009, Kurzejeski was selected to the Missouri High School Association Sunbelt team

Justin Hellman comes to Lindenwood from Wentzville Holt High School where he played on the varsity squad his final two years. During his senior campaign, the third baseman hit .400 with a school record 10 home runs and 37 RBIs. Hellman was named to the 2010 first team all-conference and first team all-state while also being selected to the MHSBCA East/West All Star team.

Shauna Isbell
Women's Wrestling
Shauna Isbell captured the first individual championship for women's wrestling in the 130 pound division at the 2012 Women's College Wrestling Association National Tournament. This was the first women's collegiate wrestling national championship for both Isbell and Lindenwood. She won twice by pin-fall and three times by decision. 
Garrett  Reeg
Men's Basketball
Garrett Reeg helped the Lindenwood men's basketball team go 3-0 last week over Webster, McKendree and Lincoln. Reeg recorded double-figure points in all three games including a 14-point mark against Webster as well as McKendree. In three games, Reeg shot 68 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free-throw line while posting 19 total rebounds.
