Women's Basketball Adds Division I Transfer

Lindenwood University women's basketball head coach Tony Francis announced today that Morgan Harrington has signed to transfer to Lindenwood from NCAA Division I Missouri State University.

“We are excited to welcome Morgan into our family,” said Francis. “Morgan's passion, knowledge, and skill are a perfect fit with our new vision as we build a championship program. Morgan will be a great ambassador for Lindenwood University both on and off the court.”

Harrington, a 5'7” point guard, appeared in 28 games during her freshman season and averaged over 13 minutes a game. She recorded the best assist-to-turnover ratio on the team while also averaging 2.4 points a game. Harrington scored a career-high nine points in a win over Southern Illinois and also grabbed a career-high five rebounds in a win in the opening round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament against Wichita State.

Just four games into her sophomore season she was forced to redshirt due to a stress fracture in her left tibia.

Harrington is one of the best women's basketball players to ever come out of Belleville East (Ill.) High School where she recorded the ninth most points in school history and ranks second on the Lancers all-time assist list. She was a four-time member of the all-state team, and all area selection from the Belleville News-Democrat. During her senior season she averaged 14.4 points, led the conference with a .920 free throw percentage and was second with almost four assists a game.
