Lindenwood Wins Hockey Triple Crown In 2010

Lindenwood University won the hockey triple crown in 2010, sweeping the men's and women's ice hockey, and roller hockey Division I National Championships. The three programs combined for a record of 113-8-3 on the year.

Last season, Lindenwood became the first school to win men's and women's ACHA ice hockey titles in the same year. With those two programs repeating the feat and roller hockey winning this year's national title, Lindenwood is the first school to win the ice hockey/roller hockey triple crown.

The roller hockey team continued its domination over the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (NCRHA), winning its eighth title over the last nine years. Lindenwood and Arizona State squared off in the finals, with Lindenwood winning 5-1. The Lions finished the season with a 28-1-1 overall record.

The women's ice hockey team won its third straight American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) national title and its fourth in the last five years. In the championship game, Lindenwood defeated Michigan State by a 2-0 score. The Lady Lions compiled a record of 43-2-2 on the year.

The men's ice hockey squad won back-to-back ACHA championships with its title this year. Like its women's counterpart, Lindenwood won the title game by a 2-0 score, with its victory coming over Iowa State. The Lions final record for 2009-10 was 42-5-0.
