The Lindenwood football team was ranked second in the nation in the NAIA Spring Poll that was released on Monday. 

The Lions received three first-place votes and had a total of 403 points, nine less than No. 1 Sioux Falls. Carroll was third in the rankings, followed by Saint Xavier and Morningside. Three other HAAC schools were ranked as MidAmerica Nazarene was tied for No. 6, Missouri Valley was No. 10, and Baker was No. 24. 

Lindenwood is expected to return 12 starters from last year's team that went 13-1 and advanced to the NAIA Championship Game.
