After going 1-1-1 in pool play at the 2010 NCRHA National Championship in San Jose, California the Lindenwood Lions started bracket play with a dominating, 10-0 win over Hofstra.
The Lions averaged over nine goals a game during the regular season and scored less than that in the three games of pool play. It looked like it was going to be much of the same against Hofstra after the Lions could only net one goal in the first period.
When the second period started it was back to the old Lions. They would net four goals on 15 second half shots to take a commanding 5-0 lead heading into the final period. The Lions did not let off the throttle as it scored five goals in the third period on the way to a 10-0 win.
John McGuiness led the way for the Lions with three goals and two assists. Sean Sullivan would chip in with a goal and three assists and line-mate Travis Bokina would score a pair of goals. Joe Colmo started in the net for the Lions and stopped all nine shots Hofstra could muster.
With the win the Lions move onto the second round to take on Rhode Island at 12:15 p.m.
