Men's Basketball Announces Two NCAA Division I Transfers
Brad Soderberg
Brad Soderberg announced today that former St. Charles West players Kramer Soderberg and Alex Bazzell will transfer to Lindenwood
Lindenwood University men’s basketball coach Brad Soderberg announced today that Kramer Soderberg and Alex Bazzell will transfer to the school next season. The two NCAA Division I players will reunite after playing together at St. Charles West for three seasons.

Kramer Soderberg, the son of Brad Soderberg, transfers from Miami (Ohio) University. The 6'0" guard started five games and played in all 32 for the Redhawks this past season. He averaged 2.2 points and recorded 25 rebounds, 29 assists, three blocks and seven steals. In two seasons, he played in 59 games and had 133 points, 37 rebounds, 44 assists, three blocks and 16 steals.

At St. Charles West, Kramer was a four-year starter and all-conference player from 2004-08. He earned two all-state honors and was a three-time conference MVP. As a senior, Kramer was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Missouri and was also named the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Player of the Year. That year, he averaged 24.4 points and 4.6 assists a game, and shot 46 percent from three-point range and 85.4 percent from the free throw line.

Bazzell, a 6'1" guard, transfers from the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he started 17 games and played in 29 last year during his freshman season. He averaged 3.4 points and 1.4 rebounds a game and had a 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. He recorded 49 steals, one block, and ten steals on the season for the Kangaroos.

Bazzell played at St. Charles West from 2005-09 and he was a three-time all-conference player, including first-team honors as a junior and senior. He was also twice named to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch second-team all-metro team. As a senior, he was the conference MVP and all-state selection after he averaged 16.9 points, five assists, and 2.5 steals a game. He also shot 48 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range, and 84 percent from the charity stripe that year.

St. Charles West won the conference championship all five years that Kramer and/or Bazzell were on the roster, and both players were a member of two district championship squads. Their top team came in 2007-08 when Kramer and Bazzell helped the Warriors to a 30-2 record and a second-place finish in the state tournament.

The duo will be reunited at Lindenwood with their former St. Charles West head coach Terry Hollander. Hollander recently announced that he was retiring from the Warriors and will be an assistant coach for the Lions next season.

Lindenwood is coming off one of its best seasons in school history during Brad Soderberg’s first year as a head coach. The Lions went 23-10 and advanced to the HAAC Tournament Championship game for just the second time in school history.
