Men's Lacrosse Drops Decision To No. 11 Colorado
The No. 16 Lindenwood men’s lacrosse could not hold on to its halftime lead as it lost to No. 11 Colorado by a 10-9 score on Friday night at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lions took an early 4-1 lead after they scored three times in the final 1:22 of the first quarter, with two of those goals coming off the stick off Josh Arras. The game appeared to be going all Lindenwood’s way when Sam Spallitta scored his second goal of the game less than a minute into the second quarter to put the Lions up 5-1.

Lindenwood’s offense went cold after that score though, as it only put one ball in the net for the next 43 minutes of the game. Colorado scored twice in the second quarter to only trail 5-3 at halftime, and then exploded for five third quarter goals to go up 8-6. The Buffaloes would add two more in the fourth quarter before the Lions scored three straight in the final 1:20 of the game. The final goal though came with just 4.1 seconds remaining and did not give Lindenwood enough time to try to tie the game.

Lindenwood’s team leader on the night was Spallitta who scored three times.

The loss drops the Lions to 3-4 on the season. Lindenwood will look to move back to .500 on Sunday with a home contest versus Miami (Fla.) at 1 p.m.
