Men's Volleyball Falls to Park for the Second Time This Year

Lindenwood fell to Park in four sets Saturday evening.
The Lindenwood men's volleyball team fell to Park (Mo.) for the second time this year Saturday evening. The Lions dug a deep hole early and never found their way back, losing 30-26, 31-29, 28-30, 30-27.

Taylor Morrill netted a team-high 11 kills, and Rick Hess and Jack Mitchell both finished with nine apiece. Mike Larson recorded 27 assists and Carson Grissinger had 18. Raphael Mattos posted two aces. Mike Emerick had 15 digs and Grissinger added 11. Hess had a team-best eight blocks and Matt Schmack tallied seven.

On Friday, Lindenwood avoided disaster, defeating Graceland in five sets after jumping out to a two games to none lead. Rallying in the fifth game, the Lions won 30-21, 30-26, 28-30, 26-30, 15-4. 

Mike Warren paced the Lions with 15 kills and Morrill added 14. Tim Huizinga chipped in with 11. Larson tallied 53 assists and Mattos contributed with a team-high three aces. Emerick logged 25 digs and JM Plummer had 10. Hess recorded a team-best 11 blocks, Warren had eight, and Schmack finished with seven. 

Lindenwood (6-6, 3-2) will travel to Missouri Baptist on Tuesday.

Garrett  Reeg
Men's Basketball
Garrett Reeg helped the Lindenwood men's basketball team go 3-0 last week over Webster, McKendree and Lincoln. Reeg recorded double-figure points in all three games including a 14-point mark against Webster as well as McKendree. In three games, Reeg shot 68 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free-throw line while posting 19 total rebounds. 
Shauna Isbell
Women's Wrestling
Shauna Isbell captured the first individual championship for women's wrestling in the 130 pound division at the 2012 Women's College Wrestling Association National Tournament. This was the first women's collegiate wrestling national championship for both Isbell and Lindenwood. She won twice by pin-fall and three times by decision.
