Tyler Donaldson
Play of the Game

The Lindenwood men’s basketball team played a near perfect first half on its way to a 74-47 victory on Thursday evening against Culver-Stockton.

The Lions jumped out to a 43-18 lead after 20 minutes of play. Lindenwood’s defense allowed the Wildcats to shot just 22.2 percent from the field for the half and the Lions outrebounded Culver-Stockton 20-12. Offensively, Lindenwood shot 53.8 percent in the half and knocked down four-of-nine three-pointers and 11-of-13 free throws.

In the second half, the Lions were not as dominant but Culver-Stockton still never cut Lindenwood’s lead under 22.

Lindenwood finished the game shooting 46.7 percent from the field and it held Culver-Stockton to 34.0 percent shooting. The Lions blocked five shots, won the rebounding battle by 13 boards and held the HAAC’s top three-point shooting team to just 1-of-14 from beyond the arc.

David King led Lindenwood with 13 points and Brett Thompson was in double figures with 11. Nine other Lions scored in the game. Toriano Adams led the team with seven rebounds, Richard Rose had a team-high three steals, and Joey Parker and Jerome Douglas each recorded five assists.
