Women's Bowling Takes Individual Title Over The Weekend

The women's bowling team had a runner-up finish and the individual champion over the weekend at the Hoinke Bearcat Tournament. The men's program had a team reach the semifinals at the event.

The Lady Lions qualified second for the match play competition and, after a first round bye, defeated Penn State by a 3-1 score in the semifinals. In the championship match, Lindenwood and Pikeville went down to the final frame in the fifth game, before Pikeville escaped with a 206-200 victory.

Jessica Helwi averaged 200.89 for the tournament which won her the individual title and a spot on the all-tournament team. Allyson Peludat was named to the Match Play All-Tournament team by finishing with a 7-2 record in head-to-head competition.

The men's team had two teams qualify fourth and fifth for the match play tournament. The fourth-seeded squad won the first-round matchup between the two, but it lost to the eventual champion, Calumet College of St. Joseph in the next round.

Danny Spink led Lindenwood with a top 10 individual finish.
