Shooting Team Sweeps Zone 7 Skeet Competition

Apr. 26, 2009—The Lindenwood shooting teams swept the Zone 7 Skeet Competition in Phoenix, Ariz. and placed a World Champion in the World Sporting Event.

Over a four day event, Chris Cook took home Collegiate Championship honors. Jessica Forbes and Talia Borg placed second and third and Cole Rommel and Eric Desatoff rounded out the top five.

In the open events, Cook took top honors in AAA Prelim event. Forbes was top in the AA with Rommel winning first place in the B division. In the doubles open Forbes was the AA champ.

The clay target team also competed in the World Sporting Event in San Antonio, Texas. Hunter Hopkins won the Preliminary event, five stand and the main event, making him a three-time World Champion.

Mandy Dion
Women's Ice Hockey
Mandy Dion helped the Lady Lions ice hockey team win its third straight national championship and was named MVP of the tournament. She scored 11 goals in five games at the national event and had three hat tricks.
Cory Spradling
Men's Ice Hockey
Cory Spradling was named the tournament MVP for the Lindenwood men's ice hockey as it won its second straight national title. Spradling scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Iowa State in the championshp game. He also scored twice in a 4-0 semifinal victory over Central Oklahoma.
