Shooting Moves Closer To Another National Championship

Mar. 21, 2009- The Lindenwood shooting program appears one day away from capturing another ACUI Intercollegiate National Championship. The Lions increased their lead on day three of the event and swept both team titles and three of the four individual crowns during the day.

In the team competition, Lindenwood has 1280 points after the day's American Skeet competition. The closest competitor is Missouri with 1243.

In the American Skeet, Lindenwood won the team title with 488 points, 18 more than Missouri. The Lady Lions swept the top three spots in the ladies competition, led by Jessica Forbes who won by missing just one of 100 targets. Six Lions tied for sixth with the same 99 score.

Also on Saturday, the Five Stand event concluded. Lindenwood won that with a score of 225, with Missouri coming in second with 191. Lindenwood's men dominated by taking six of the top seven spots, led by Matt Hughes who won by hitting 46 of 50 targets. Jenna Mclean took first on the women's side by hitting 41 targets.

The event concludes on Sunday with the International Skeet competition.

Shauna Isbell
Women's Wrestling
Shauna Isbell captured the first individual championship for women's wrestling in the 130 pound division at the 2012 Women's College Wrestling Association National Tournament. This was the first women's collegiate wrestling national championship for both Isbell and Lindenwood. She won twice by pin-fall and three times by decision. 
Garrett  Reeg
Men's Basketball
Garrett Reeg helped the Lindenwood men's basketball team go 3-0 last week over Webster, McKendree and Lincoln. Reeg recorded double-figure points in all three games including a 14-point mark against Webster as well as McKendree. In three games, Reeg shot 68 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free-throw line while posting 19 total rebounds.
