Lindenwood Shooting Remains In First After American Trap Competition
Mar. 20, 2009- The Lindenwood shooting team increased its lead on Friday at the ACUI Collegiate Clay Targets Shooting National Championships as it looks to win a sixth-straight title.

The Lions finished second in Friday's event which was American Trap. Lindenwood hit 489 out of 500 targets in the team scoring, one less than the event's champion Missouri.

Individually, six Lindenwood shooters tied for sixth by missing just one of the 100 targets. Tyler Smith, Jesse Molstre, and Chad Hafer were among this group and had their scores count in the team standings. Also in the team portion of the competition, Pat Klug hit 97 targets and Joshua White hit 95.

In the women's shoot, Sara Simpson came in second by hitting 96 of 100 targets. Jenna McLean and Jessica Forbes also had Top 10 finishes on the women's side.

Two days remain for the competition with International and American Skeet events remaining.
