The top ranked Lindenwood men's ice hockey team shutout No. 7 Oklahoma this afternoon, 3-0. It was just the third shutout of the season for the Lions.
After skating to a scoreless tie in the first period, the Lions took control just seconds into the second, when senior

Midway through the third, the Lions capitalized on a power play opportunity.
Grant Gorczyca scored off a deflected shot to push the lead to three. The Lions' defense would do the rest over the final ten minutes.

On Friaday, Lindenwood got back on track after losing its first games of the season last week, winning 3-2 in overtime against visiting Oklahoma. It was the first overtime game of the season for the Lions.

Chad Boeckman would push the lead to two with his 19th goal of the season. Oklahoma would respond with two scores over the next three minutes to tie the game.
In the third, both teams had chances but neither was able to find the back of the net sending the contest to a sudden-death five minute overtime period. Two minutes into the extra frame, Gorczyca found
Jake Ebner for the game winning score. The goal was Ebner's second game winning tally this season.
