Lady Lions Skate to a Tie Against College of St. Catherine
The Lindenwood women’s ice hockey team finished in a 4-4 draw against College of St. Catherine this evening. Leading 3-1 at one point, the Lady Lions’ defense surrendered three consecutive goals before rallying to force overtime.

The Wildcats opened the scoring late in the first period with an even strength goal. The Lady Lions would respond with three scores in the first ten minutes of the second period. Christy Mason scored less than four minutes in and Lisa Moreau would net just her second score of the year shortly after. Less than two minutes later, Brett Lobreau would put Lindenwood up 3-1.

The Wildcats, who outshot Lindenwood 39-32 on the night, fired back with three more goals before the period concluded, including a power play score, just the second surrendered by Lindenwood all year.

Alexandra Johansson tied the game with her second goal in as many days with less than two minutes remaining in the game. In overtime, neither team was able to capitalize and the two teams skated to a four all tie.

Rebecca Bernet was in goal for the Lady Lions, stopping 35 shots.

The Lady Lions fell to Bethel University on Friday night by a 5-3 score. For Lindenwood, it was its first loss in 32 games and first this year.

Trailing 4-0 entering the second period, Johansson put Lindenwood on the board with her first power play goal of the season. Minutes later, Krystal Martin scored to trim the lead to two. Bethel would add another tally late in the period, before Mandy Dion would convert a power play score in the third period to cap the scoring.

Bernet faced 43 shots, stopping 38 of them in defeat. Moreau finished with a pair of assists.

Lindenwood (10-1-1, 8-0) will begin a two game series with Liberty University this Thursday and conclude the week with a pair of games against the University of Colorado.
