Scott Siwicki and
Colin Hackworth of the Lindenwood men's volleyball team have been named to the second-team All-MIVA on Wednesday morning.
Siwicki, a junior middle hitter from Elk Grove, Ill., led the conference in overall hitting percentage at a clip of .448. In conference play, Siwicki was third in hitting percentage with a mark of .409 in 13 conference matches. He averaged 1.76 kills per set and 1.20 blocks per set in conference play. Siwicki recorded three matches with double-digit kills this season.
Hackworth, a 6-9 sophomore opposite hitter, was sixth in conference play with 160 kills and fourth with 3.56 kills per set. During the season, Hackworth recorded a team-high 307 total kills at 3.41 kills per set. He also was second on the Lindenwood squad with 31 service aces throughout the season, putting him fifth overall in the conference. Hackworth ended the season with a career-high 24 kills against Grand Canyon.
Loyola-Chicago's Joseph Smalzer and Thomas Jaeschke were named the MIVA Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively. Ball State head coach Joel Walton was recognized as the MIVA Coach of the Year.
Lindenwood finished the season with an overall record of 19-9 and owned a mark of 5-9 in its first year in the MIVA conference. Due to its provisional status, the Lions are not allowed to compete in the MIVA conference tournament.
