For the second straight night, the Lindenwood women's lacrosse team won by just a single goal as the No. 6 Lady Lions defeated No. 11 Georgia by a 6-5 margin. The game was on day two of the Lindenwood Invitational at Hunter Stadium.
Lindenwood trailed 4-3 at halftime but its defense clamped down in the second half as it allowed just one goal in the final 30 minutes. The Lady Lions tied the game at five with 13:04 remaining in the game and then received the game-winning goal from Kelcey Anderson at the 11:15 mark.
Lexi Crusha had two goals and two assists in the victory, including assisting on the game-winning score.
Kara Cashen had a pair of second-half goals, and
Eleni Papadakos had the other score for Lindenwood.
Lindenwood improves to 11-4 with the victory. The Lady Lions will take on No. 12 Michigan at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Hunter Stadium.
