Lions Beat MidAmerica Nazarene in the First Round of the HAAC Tournament
Dan Harris hit a grand slam in the second inning of the Lions win.

The Lindenwood baseball team defeated MidAmerica Nazarene by a 12-2 score on Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the 2010 HAAC Tournament in St. Joseph, Mo.

The Pioneers jumped out to an early 1-0 in the top of the first inning but that lead did not last long. In the bottom of the second the Lions exploded for six runs which included a grand slam by Dan Harris

MidAmerica Nazarene would tack on a single run in the third inning but that was the last time the Pioneers would cross the plate. Lindenwood would score three runs in the fifth and three more in the seventh inning to roll to a ten-run victory.

Zach Malawey and Casey Colbert each had three hits while the Lions pounded out 13 as a team. For the first time this season, Bryant Hollingsworth started on the hill. He went six innings and struck out five.

The Lions will next take on the winner of the Avila-Missouri Valley game on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
