Lindenwood baseball head coach Doug Bletcher has announced that he has added three transfers to compete for the Lions next year. Crispen Tarango comes to Lindenwood from Santa Ana College (Calif.), Ryan Griffin is transferring from Clarendon Community College (Texas), and Luis Idrogo comes from Cochise Community College (Ariz.).
Tarango, a smooth fielding infielder, comes to Lindenwood after starring at Santa Anna College and spending a year at NAIA powerhouse, Lewis and Clark State (Idaho). During his time at Santa Anna College he was named the Orange Empire Co-Player of the Year and the Southern California All-American Player of the Year. In two seasons at Santa Anna he hit .391 and .328, while hitting 31 doubles, 11 home runs, and 93 RBIs in two seasons.
Griffin, a 6'2” left-handed pitcher from Sydney, Australia, played his first two years of college baseball at Clarendon Community College in Texas. In 2009 and 2010 he compiled a record of 14-6 while striking out 94 hitters in just over 120 innings pitched.
Idrogo is a switch-hitting catcher who played junior college baseball at Cochise Community College in Arizona. During his final season at Cochise he hit .316 with six doubles, three home runs and drove in 22 RBIs.
These three transfers will be big additions to the three-time defending HAAC Champions in 2011.
