Women's Tennis Dominate Principia Invitational

The Lindenwood Lady Lions women’s tennis team began their spring season with a dominating performance at the Principia Invitational. As a team the Lady Lions only lost three sets during the whole weekend.

In the singles event, the top three were all from Lindenwood and the top doubles team was also from Lindenwood.
 
Number one singles, Allison Giles, won all three of her matches in dominating performance. In her opening match against Dori Craighead from Westminster, she won 6-0, 6-1. Match two saw her take on Anele Novak from Quincy and once again crushed her opponent 6-1, 6-1. The final opponent for Giles was Sarah Corbitt of Principia and it was a 6-2, 6-3 two set sweep.
 
In other singles matches, Raminta Kazemekaityte beat all three of her opponents 3-0 as did Severine DeBeuf, Rachel Bailey and Andrea Aguilar.

The doubles matches were also as successful as the singles. The number one team of Giles and DeBeuf beat all three schools as did the team of Bailey and Sharpe.

Next up for the Lady Lions is a home match against Indiana Institute of Technology on March 12.

Shauna Isbell
Women's Wrestling
Shauna Isbell captured the first individual championship for women's wrestling in the 130 pound division at the 2012 Women's College Wrestling Association National Tournament. This was the first women's collegiate wrestling national championship for both Isbell and Lindenwood. She won twice by pin-fall and three times by decision. 
Garrett  Reeg
Men's Basketball
Garrett Reeg helped the Lindenwood men's basketball team go 3-0 last week over Webster, McKendree and Lincoln. Reeg recorded double-figure points in all three games including a 14-point mark against Webster as well as McKendree. In three games, Reeg shot 68 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free-throw line while posting 19 total rebounds.
