Lions Defeat Hannibal-LaGrange on the Road

Mike Larson had a double-double against Hannibal-LaGrange Tuesday night.

The Lindenwood volleyball team defeated Hannibal-LaGrange 30-13, 28-30, 30-20, 30-21 on the road Tuesday night to earn a key MAMVIC West victory.

Mike Warren led the Lions with a double-double of 15 kills and 12 blocks. Taylor Morrill chipped in with 12 kills. Mike Larson also netted a double-double of 37 assists and a team-high 15 digs. Four different Lions posted two aces in the win. Mike Emerick added 12 digs and Luke Knowlson had a career-high 14 blocks.

Lindenwood (16-8, 6-3) travels to Colorado this weekend for two conference matches against Johnson & Wales.

Athletes of the Week

Cassie Williams

Women's Basketball

Cassie Williams was named the 2009-10 Lindenwood Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Williams, a women's basketball player, averaged 9.1 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Lady Lions last season. The four-year letterwinner finished her career with over 700 points and 500 rebounds, and nearly 200 assists. Williams is an Exercise Science major at Lindenwood.

Mike Emerick

Men's Volleyball

Mike Emerick was named the 2009-10 Lindenwood Male Student-Athlete of the Year. Emerick, a men's volleyball player, was named the MAMVIC West Conference Libero of the Year for the second straight season. He collected 442 digs for an average of 3.5 digs a game, and was named the National Libero of the Week four times. Emerick is a Finance major at Lindenwood.
