Lady Lions Beat Benedictine For The Second Time
Cassie Williams led the Lady Lions with 19 points.

For the second time this season the Lindenwood Lady Lions beat the Benedictine Lady Ravens. Saturday afternoon the Lady Lions won 77-69 at the Hyland Performance Arena.

Benedictine started off the game with an opening 15-3 run to put the Lady Ravens up 12. The lead would hover around 10 until four minutes to play in the first half when the Lady Lions cut the lead to five after Destini Wilson connected on a layup to get the lead down to three. The lead would end up at four at the end of the first half.

The second half was all Lindenwood as they took the lead after Kelly Albers connected on a jumper to give the team their first lead of the day. The two teams would exchange the lead two more times until Cassie Williams was good on a jumper and give the Lady Lions the one point lead, and a lead they would not give up.

Williams would lead the team in scoring with 19, added five rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Wilson chipped in with 13 points off the bench shooting four-of-five from the field. Lindenwood would shoot 65 percent from the field in the second half and 51 percent for the game.

With the win the Lady Lions improved to 7-15 overall and most importantly 5-9 in conference play.
