Track and Field Wins Six Events at the Hoosier Invitational

The Lindenwood men's and women's track and field teams won six events at the Hoosier Invitational today, hosted by the Indiana University. The men captured five first place finishes and the women snagged the other.
On the men's side, Bruno Boccalotta grabbed the top honor in the weight throw, and Jim Freeman won the shot put competition. Ryan Brinker captured the pole vault title, and Noe Hernandez edged out a teammate for the fastest time in the 600 meter dash. Joshua Schmidt logged the best time in the 800 meter dash.
Other top individual performances for the men were Freeman and Mitchell Heady finishing second and third respectively behind Boccalotta in the weight throw. In the shot put, MIke Tzianos, Nick Orf and Heady rounded out the top four. Ryan Orallo was eighth in the long jump.
Fabian Willskytt placed 13th in the 200 meter dash, and Keith Hernandez finished ninth in the 400 meter run. Romain Menard finished second behind Noe Hernandez in the 600 meter dash, and Dwayne Ferguson and Kevin Cooper were fourth and sixth respectively.
Cecila Mboua won the women's triple jump competition to highlight a successful day for the women. Kaitlin Moore and China Moore finished second and fourth respectively in the long jump event. Irina Reinhardt was second in the weight throw, and Amanda Leung earned a fourth place finish in pole vault.
Much like the men, the women had success in the long sprints. Teneign Coulibaly recorded third place finishes in both the 60 meter and 200 meter dash. Keith Kotan was fifth in the 60 meter dash as well.
Rachel Hemphill placed second in the 600 meter dash, and Jan Bennett was fourth.
Both the men's and women's 4x400 meter relay teams had the third fastest time at the event.
