Men's Basketball Drops Contest To Defending HAAC Champions
Joey Parker
Joey Parker had a season-best 27 points and recorded seven assists against MidAmerica Nazarene.
The Lions basketball team dropped its third straight HAAC road contest on Saturday afternoon with a 64-58 setback against the defending conference champions, MidAmerica Nazarene.

The Pioneers took the advantage in the game midway through the first half with an 11-0 run that gave them a 21-10 lead. Lindenwood would cut that deficit to two, but a couple of field goals late in the half gave MidAmerica Nazarene a 29-23 halftime lead.

In the final period, the Lions got within a field goal a couple of times, but another big run, this one a 13-5 spurt, put the Pioneers up 53-43, and Lindenwood never got within one possession for the rest of the game.

Lindenwood shot only 34.6 percent from the field in the first half when it fell behind by six points and was 41.2 percent for the game. MidAmerica Nazarene shot 42.9 percent from the field for the game and went to the free throw line 12 more times, including making six more charity shots.

Joey Parker had his best game of the season, scoring 27 points and dishing out seven assists. He was nine-of-13 from the field, including four-of-six from behind the arc. Brett Thompson had 14 points and five blocks, and Jerome Douglas led the team with six rebounds.
