Lions Clay Target Team Dominate Four Seperate Events

The Lindenwood shooting team presents the Gamaliel Collegiate Championship trophy to Lindenwood University President Dr. Evans.
This past weekend the Lindenwood Clay Target team competed in four separate events and had success at all four locations.

Starting off the weekend the Lions competed in Sparta, Illinois at the Gamaliel Cup. As a team the Lions won the overall championship. Not only did the Lions win the team championship there was several individual championships. In the sporting course Sarah Hughes was crowned the overall women’s champion and her teammate Jenna McLean was the runner-up. In other events Jesse Molstre was the champion of “AA” class, McLean was crowned the champion of the “A” class, Hunter Hopkins won the “B” championships and Geri Williams won the “C” class.

Next up for the Lions was a trip to Rolla, Missouri for a match against Missouri S&T. Senior Jake Wallace recorded a perfect score in American trap of 100. At the Ohio International Trap Championship sophomore Jake Wallace was crowned the champion. In the final event of the weekend head coach Shawn Dulohery competed in the USA Team Selection Match and made the world cup team.

This week the Lions will compete in the Sparta, Illinois at the Fall Classic.

Mandy Dion
Women's Ice Hockey
Mandy Dion helped the Lady Lions ice hockey team win its third straight national championship and was named MVP of the tournament. She scored 11 goals in five games at the national event and had three hat tricks.
Cory Spradling
Men's Ice Hockey
Cory Spradling was named the tournament MVP for the Lindenwood men's ice hockey as it won its second straight national title. Spradling scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Iowa State in the championshp game. He also scored twice in a 4-0 semifinal victory over Central Oklahoma.
