Ellen Fandry Named To Academic All-District Second-Team
Ellen Fandry (2009)
Lindenwood women’s volleyball player Ellen Fandry was named to the second-team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District squad this week. Fandry is the second Lady Lions volleyball player in as many years to earn this honor, and she was one of just two sophomores among the 12 volleyball players on the first or second teams.

Fandry helped Lindenwood win its fifth straight HAAC Championship this year. She leads the teams and is third in the HAAC with 3.40 kills a game. In 29 matches this year, she has led the team in kills including two matches of 20. The sophomore from Houston, Texas leads the team in double-doubles with 11. She is among the team’s serving leaders with 28 aces and is averaging 2.20 digs and 0.34 blocks a game. Fandry has recorded double figure kills in 28 of the 39 matches that she has appeared in.

The academic all-district teams are voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. Fandry was chosen from a field that includes all NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and Junior Colleges in the states of Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Lindenwood opens up play in the HAAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Culver-Stockton at 2 p.m.
