Lady Lions Win on Senior Night
Ashley Tankersly (2009)
The Lindenwood women’s soccer team ended the regular season in winning fashion Wednesday evening, defeating Bethel University (Tenn.), 2-1. It was the second win in as many days for the Lady Lions.

After playing to a scoreless tie in the first half, the two teams picked up the pace in the second. Midway through the half, McKenzie Creamer was fouled inside the box and put the Lady Lions up 1-0 with a penalty kick score. Minutes later, Creamer would find senior Ashley Tankersley, who slipped one past the Bethel goalie, pushing the Lindenwod lead to two.

Maryse Beauregard would score shortly after for Bethel and nearly netted a second goal, but Lindenwood’s Erin Sage made a diving save to maintain the one goal cushion.

Lindenwood improves to 8-8-1 on the season and will travel to Benedictine next for the first round of the HAAC tournament.
