Krista Yoder and Victoria Krause go up for a block in Lindenwood's 3-0 win over Evangel.
The Lindenwood women’s volleyball team ended its regular season with a 25-22, 25-13, 25-16 sweep over Evangel on Tuesday evening. The victory gave the HAAC Champion Lady Lions their third straight undefeated conference season and pushed their conference winning streak to 31 matches.

The turning point in the match came late in the first set when Lindenwood overcame a three-point deficit by scoring seven of the final eight points of game. After that, it was all Lady Lions for the remainder of the contest as they nearly doubled the Crusaders’ points for the final two sets.

Lindenwood set the tone in set one by recording kills on 20 of its 25 points. However, Lady Lions’ errors helped Evangel lead for much of the set, including by four points as late as 19-15. Ellen Fandry had 11 kills in that set, but her serving provided the biggest point when her ace gave the Lady Lions a 24-22 advantage, and they finished the set off one point later on a kill by Kelsey Kennedy.

The Lindenwood serve receive was the story of the second set. Evangel only scored one point off its serve the entire game, and that did not occur until the Lady Lions had set point at 24-12. The first part of the game saw sideout by both teams until Lindenwood went on a 6-0 run with Kelsey Biggs serving. Later, the team had other runs of 6-2 and 6-1 to pull away for the lopsided win.

The final set was close midway through with Lindenwood leading 16-14. The Lady Lions once again took over in the later stages of the set by scoring nine of the final 11 points. The big run was set up by the serving of Alexandria Malam during a 6-0 Lindenwood spurt. In fitting fashion, Lindenwood’s lone senior, Brittany Tate, ended her Senior Night with a kill to conclude the match.

Fandry finished with a match-high 19 kills, and Kelsey Jo Vogler and Krista Yoder each added eight apiece. Alyssa Showers had a team-high seven digs, Kristy Dreisewerd had three blocks, and Biggs had 35 assists.

Lindenwood ends its regular season with a 28-11 record. It will be the number one seed in the upcoming HAAC Tournament and will host a first-round match on Saturday at 2 p.m.
