Three Lindenwood Athletes Earn HAAC Player of the Week Honors
Player of the Week (Showers/Thomas)
Alyssa Showers and Roren Thomas
Three Lindenwood athletes captured awards on Monday from the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC). Football player Roren Thomas was the conference Special Teams Player of the Week, Victor Francoz was the Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, and Alyssa Showers was the Volleyball Libero of the Week.

Thomas had 114 yards on three kickoff return yards and finished with 196 all-purpose yards in a 41-31 victory over Benedictine. He opened the second half with an 83-yard kickoff return touchdown and nearly had another score but had it called back due to a penalty. His kickoff returns were the number one reason why Lindenwood had an average starting field position at its 48 yard line for the game.

Francoz earned two victories in goal for Lindenwood as he allowed just two goals and made 16 saves. Six saves came during a 3-2 win over Central Methodist and he had 10 saves during a 2-0 victory over Graceland, his fifth shutout of the year.

Showers averaged 5.56 digs a game and had only one receiving error in 76 attempts in five matches. She had a season-high 36 digs versus Freed-Hardeman, and had 25 digs and no receiving errors in 22 attempts in the match with Indiana IT. Showers had 10 digs and no errors in the victory over MidAmerica Nazarene which clinched the HAAC Championship for the team.
