Lindenwood Swimming Perform Well Against Saint Louis University

The Lindenwood Lions swimming and diving teams competed in their first dual-meet of the season Saturday against, NCAA division I Saint Louis University. The Lions were victorious on the men’s side beating the Billikens 153-107. The women didn’t have as much success, falling to the Bills 176-78. The Lions won 11 out of the 14 events on the men’s side, while the ladies were victorious in two.

The men’s team started off the meet with a bang winning the first five events. Lindenwood won the 200 yard medley relay, Dylan Palmer-Givan won the 1000 yard free, Javier Hernandez was victorious in the 200 yard free, Dgemil Ashruf won the 50 yard free and Sergio Molina was the top finisher in the 200 yard individual medley.

The wins did not stop there for the Lions. Lion relay teams in the 200 yard free and 400 yard free finished first plus Molina winning the 100 yard breast stroke, Hernandez winning the 100 yard butterfly, Simon Morley finished first in the 100 yard back stroke and Ubaldo Zavaleta in the 500 yard free.

On the women’s side Sarah Billamosa finished in first place in the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard backstroke. Jessica Reinitz pitched in with a first place finish in the 100 yard butterfly.
Next up for the swimming and diving team is a dual-meet against Missouri State on November 6th in Springfield, Mo.

Cory Spradling
Men's Ice Hockey
Cory Spradling was named the tournament MVP for the Lindenwood men's ice hockey as it won its second straight national title. Spradling scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Iowa State in the championshp game. He also scored twice in a 4-0 semifinal victory over Central Oklahoma.
Mandy Dion
Women's Ice Hockey
Mandy Dion helped the Lady Lions ice hockey team win its third straight national championship and was named MVP of the tournament. She scored 11 goals in five games at the national event and had three hat tricks.
