A member of the 2009 HAAC Champion baseball team was picked second overall in the Frontier League Baseball draft on Tuesday. Left-handed pitcher Chris Peters was selected by the Evansville Otters.

The Lindenwood baseball team ended its regular season with an overall record of 38-14 and a conference mark of 20-8 and earned a share for the conference regular season title. This was the third consecutive year the Lions have at least earned a share of first place.

For the third consecutive season the Lindenwood Lion baseball team finished on top of the HAAC standings after a 10-3 win in the second game of a doubleheader against Culver-Stockton on Wednesday afternoon in Canton, Mo. The Lions finished with a record of 20-8 in conference play which tied Avila and William Jewell for the top spot. Culver-Stockton did manage to win game one 5-3.

Athletes of the Week
Mike Emerick
Men's Volleyball
Mike Emerick was named the 2009-10 Lindenwood Male Student-Athlete of the Year. Emerick, a men's volleyball player, was named the MAMVIC West Conference Libero of the Year for the second straight season. He collected 442 digs for an average of 3.5 digs a game, and was named the National Libero of the Week four times. Emerick is a Finance major at Lindenwood.
Cassie Williams
Women's Basketball
Cassie Williams was named the 2009-10 Lindenwood Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Williams, a women's basketball player, averaged 9.1 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Lady Lions last season. The four-year letterwinner finished her career with over 700 points and 500 rebounds, and nearly 200 assists. Williams is an Exercise Science major at Lindenwood.
