The Lindenwood women’s volleyball team wrapped up play at the Point Loma Nazarene Tournament in San Diego, Calif. with a 2-2 record. The highlight of the weekend came on Saturday afternoon when the Lady Lions knocked off No. 14 Point Loma Nazarene.

The Lindenwood field hockey squad dropped its season opener to Missouri State on Saturday afternoon in Springfield, Mo. The Bears erupted for six unanswered goals in the second half to defeat the Lady Lions 7-1.

Several Lindenwood women’s ice hockey players have been selected to represent Team USA at the upcoming 2011 Winter World University Games in Erzurum, Turkey. It marks the first time the U.S. will be sending a women's team to the biannual event.

The 2009 football season ended for the Lindenwood Lions in Helena, Mont., as a failed two-point conversation attempt harmlessly fell to the turf. The Lions fell one point short of going to the national championship game. A year later the Lions were right back in Montana with a chance for redemption. The NAIA national semifinal against Carroll College is the top moment of the 2009-10 athletic season.

Athletes of the Week
Mike Emerick
Men's Volleyball
Mike Emerick was named the 2009-10 Lindenwood Male Student-Athlete of the Year. Emerick, a men's volleyball player, was named the MAMVIC West Conference Libero of the Year for the second straight season. He collected 442 digs for an average of 3.5 digs a game, and was named the National Libero of the Week four times. Emerick is a Finance major at Lindenwood.
Cassie Williams
Women's Basketball
Cassie Williams was named the 2009-10 Lindenwood Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Williams, a women's basketball player, averaged 9.1 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Lady Lions last season. The four-year letterwinner finished her career with over 700 points and 500 rebounds, and nearly 200 assists. Williams is an Exercise Science major at Lindenwood.
